Dr. Renan Erkut-Petermann

I am a licensed Psychologist in New Jersey and a licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY. I earned my doctorate from the New School for Social Research, which is now known as the New School. I am currently offering tele-health services to adolescents (12+), adults and couples through Headway. I specialize in helping people with depression and bipolar disorder, OCD, Anxiety, ADHD. I also am skilled in identity issues related to emerging adulthood, pre-post natal adjustment to parenting challenges, acculturation issues, and marital conflicts. I obtained my extensive experience in hospital, community mental health, and private group practice settings and am well versed with the latest research on treatment modalities.

I am a multi-culturally sensitive clinician who has been described as warm, supportive and engaging. I am a humanist, interested in the whole person. Growth and development is my focus in life and I aim to inspire that in my clients at every step of their journey with me. In my work, I bring in curiosity, multi-cultural sensitivity, many years of experience, and a little bit of life wisdom into sessions as I collaborate with my clients and help create opportunities for self-awareness, change and growth.
